For many visitors to Cuba the vintage cars become a lasting memory. The old cars are a vivid reminder of Che Guevara and the Cuban revolution in 1959. Fidel Castro banned imports from the US and ever since then Cubans have been finding inventive ways of maintaining their classic cars.
Lesley Gerry was as fascinated by the cars as by the architecture of Havana when he visited in 2016. So much so that his paintings of cars have formed a separate book : Havana Cars.
