Undated, but circa 1897. A UK first edition. No wrapper The book is tight and sound. The boards show minor soiling. The corners are sharp. The spine is dulled as is the gilt lettering thereon. The spine ends are bruised. The pages are clean - there is ghosting to the endpapers. The closed page edges are lightly toned. The binding is fragile and the book has a lean. There are however no loose pages. There is a contemporary ownership inscription at the head of the title page. A decent copy of an uncommon book.
